Open Senate Meeting: Presentation of Work Plans by Candidates for Vice Dean of FISIP Undip for the 2024-2029 Term

Semarang (11/07) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held an Open Senate Meeting to present the work plans of the candidates for the Vice Dean of FISIP Undip for the 2024-2029 term. This event plays a crucial role in realizing FISIP Undip’s vision of becoming one of the world’s top 400 universities and supporting Undip as a dignified and beneficial institution. The election process is expected to yield leaders capable of addressing the challenges and obstacles faced and contributing to the achievement of the university’s vision and missions.

The event, held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the Auditorium Room on the 3rd Floor of the FISIP Undip A Building, featured several panellists representing lecturers, staff, and students. The panellists included Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos, M.Pol.Admin, Ph.D. (Lecturer of the Department of Political and Government Studies), Andi Widiasmoro, S.T., M.Kom. (Manager of the Administrative Division), and Muhammad Razan Alif Siregar (President of the FISIP Undip Student Executive Board).

In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the Academic Senate of FISIP Undip, Prof. Dr. Dra. Naili Farida, M.Si., stated, “This Open Meeting serves as a platform for the academic community of FISIP Undip to listen to and scrutinize the ideas, visions, and views of the vice dean candidates during the process of filling this position.” She also mentioned that, according to the letters of willingness received, the selection stage for the Vice Dean of FISIP Undip for the 2024-2029 term included four candidates: Ika Riswanti Putranti, S.H., M.H., Ph.D. (candidate for Vice Dean for Resources), Dr. Nurul Hasfi, S.Sos, M.A. (candidate for Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs), Dr. Reni Shinta Dewi, S.Sos, M.Si. (candidate for Vice Dean for Resources), and S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos, M.Comm.St., Ph.D. (candidate for Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs).

The series of activities for the Presentation of Work Plans by the Vice Dean Candidates of FISIP Undip will be followed by a Closed Senate Meeting. This meeting aims to provide a qualitative assessment of the vice dean candidates, and the results will be confidentially submitted to the Dean of FISIP Undip for further processing at the university level.

Furthermore, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., in his remarks, emphasized that in FISIP Undip’s vision to rank among the world’s top 400 universities, many challenges and obstacles must be faced. Therefore, hard work from all parties, including faculty, staff, alumni, and students within the FISIP Undip community, is necessary. He also stressed that “The Vice Dean, or as referred to in the Rector’s Regulation, is the Assistant Dean in leading the Faculty to realize the University’s vision and missions, assisting the Dean in achieving the Rector’s vision of becoming a World-Class University and a Global Research University.” This is a form of FISIP’s contribution to Undip’s dignity and benefit. Dr. Teguh also advised the vice dean candidates to carry out their duties meticulously, swiftly, responsively, professionally, and with attention to agile government aspects.

This event is expected to select visionary leaders capable of steering FISIP Undip in a better direction, in line with Undip’s vision of becoming a world-class university and an excellent research centre.
