Semarang (08/05) – Internationalizing education remains a primary focus for universities in Indonesia. This was evident in the visit of the Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) team from Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) for benchmarking purposes in preparation for international accreditation assessment by FIBAA. The activity took place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in the Senate Meeting Room, 1st Floor of the FISIP Undip Tembalang campus.
The delegation from FISIPOL UMY, led by the Dean of FISIPOL UMY, Dr. Takdir Ali Mukti, S.Sos., M.Si., was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, along with the Vice Dean for Resources, Ika Riswanti Putranti, S.H., M.H., Ph.D., managers, supervisors, and study program administrators within FISIP Undip. In his address, Dr. Teguh Yuwono highlighted FISIP Undip’s success in having 8 study programs internationally accredited by FIBAA. This achievement is not only a source of pride for FISIP Undip but also contributes to Undip’s ranking in internationalization, now among the top 3.
Furthermore, the Dean of FISIPOL UMY, Dr Takdir Ali Mukti, expressed the purpose of their visit to FISIP Undip, which was to learn and absorb FISIP Undip’s experiences in facing international accreditation assessment by FIBAA. This year, FISIPOL UMY plans to undergo international accreditation assessment by FIBAA for two programs, namely the Bachelor of International Relations and the Bachelor of Government Studies. The hope is that the collaboration between these universities will greatly benefit the improvement of education quality in Indonesia, particularly in the field of social and political sciences.
This visit not only serves as an exchange of experiences between higher education institutions but also marks an important moment in the effort to enhance education quality globally. With the support and close collaboration between FISIP Undip and FISIPOL UMY, it is expected that these universities will continue to achieve excellence in higher education in the future.
