Semarang (25/04) – The graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) for the 174th (Session 2) was held grandly on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Auditorium of FISIP Undip Building A, 3rd Floor, Tembalang. The presence of Semarang Mayor, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, as a prospective graduate, was the main highlight of the event.

According to the official report from the Vice Dean of Resources at FISIP Undip, a total of 117 prospective graduates attended this second session. They consisted of 3 doctoral candidates in Public Administration, 4 master’s candidates in Public Administration, 59 bachelor’s candidates in Public Administration, 8 bachelor’s candidates in Public Administration from PSDKU Rembang, 3 master’s candidates in Business Administration, and 40 bachelor’s candidates in Business Administration.

In her report, the Vice Dean conveyed an important message to the graduates. “The true height of knowledge is reflected through etiquette and courtesy. Being smart without good social behaviour is only halfway towards success. And the true success of a scholar is reflected in the wisdom and courtesy they bring to the world,” she said, quoting the wise words of Ibn al-Mubarak RA, who stated that having etiquette, even if a little, was more valuable than having a lot of knowledge.

Additionally, the Vice Dean also emphasized the importance of good and effective communication in facing interviews or in working and building networks. She stated that good communication must start with respectful etiquette towards everyone.

The impressions and messages from the prospective graduates were represented by Mrs. Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, a doctoral candidate in Public Administration who is also the Mayor of Semarang. In her speech, she expressed pride in the achievements and dedication of her fellow graduates. “For me, FISIP Undip is like a mother’s womb, giving birth to figures that have an impact on this nation. A mother nurturing and raising this republic towards Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia),” said Mrs. Ita in her graduation speech.

The Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin also addressed several important matters, including FISIP Undip’s achievement of being ranked in the top 500+ in the world according to QS World University Rankings. He also introduced 10 new facilities at FISIP Undip recently inaugurated by the Rector of Undip.

With the extraordinary presence and contributions of the prospective graduates, including Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, the 174th (Session 2) FISIP Undip Yudisium Ceremony was conducted with great enthusiasm and hope for a bright future.
