Undip, March 1, 2024 – The Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) organized a Studium Generale held on March 1, 2024, in the FISIP Theater Room, Undip. This Studium Generale highlighted a crucial topic, namely “The Urgency of Human Rights in Public Policy Analysis.”
With the presence of the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Indonesia, Dr. Atnike Nova Sigiro, M.Sc, this studium generale provided in-depth insights into the principles of Human Rights (HR) that need to be applied in public policy analysis. Additionally, Dr. Atnike Nova Sigiro discussed the fundamental principles of HR that should be applied in the process of policy-making or public policy analysis, namely the Universal principle, the inalienable principle, the non-discrimination principle, and the indivisible principle, which serve as the foundation for upholding the human rights of every individual.
Another speaker at the event was Dr. Dra. Retno Sunu Astuti. M.Si, who explained the government’s responsibilities in the context of Human Rights. In her discussion, Dr. Retno Sunu Astuti highlighted three crucial aspects: protecting the people, serving the people, and governing the people.
Furthermore, the event aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the urgency of human rights in the formulation of public policies and the government’s responsibility in ensuring fair protection, service, and regulations for all citizens.
