Semarang (02/22) – Today marks an important moment for the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) as the selection process for the 2024 Outstanding Student (Pilmapres) begins. The event, opened directly by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, signifies the initial milestone in seeking outstanding students who will represent the university in prestigious competitions.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Mr. Agus Naryoso, S.Sos., M.Si., acting as the Expert Staff to the Vice Dean I and Chair of the Student Creativity Program and Student Achievement Unit 2024, and Mr. Agung Budiatmo, S.Sos., M.M, serving as the Chair of Pilmapres FISIP Undip 2024. This activity was attended by five study programs at the main campus and one study program outside the main campus, namely the Public Administration Study Program at Rembang Campus.

In his official report, Agus Naryoso provided an overview of the number of participants in the 2024 Selection from each study program, which includes 3 students from the International Relations undergraduate program, 5 students from the Communication Science undergraduate program, 2 students from the Government Studies undergraduate program, 2 students from the Public Administration undergraduate program, 1 student from the Public Administration undergraduate program at Rembang PSDKU, and 2 students from the Business Administration undergraduate program. Meanwhile, for the year 2025, there are 3 students from the International Relations undergraduate program, 5 students from the Communication Science undergraduate program, 2 students from the Government Science undergraduate program, 3 students from the Public Administration undergraduate program, and 3 students from the Business Administration undergraduate program.

Previously, participants in the 2024/2025 Outstanding Student selection had received intensive guidance from the FISIP Undip Pilmapres Team and the FISIP Undip Student Executive Board (BEM) during the Orange’s Prestatif Class event: FISIP Undip Outstanding Student School 2024 on Monday and Tuesday, February 19-20, 2024. During this opportunity, it was hoped that students’ knowledge and skills could be further honed.

On Friday, February 23, 2024, each Faculty is expected to have sent their representatives’ names to the University. The University selection itself will be held from February 24, 2024, to March 9, 2024. This Outstanding Student selection is an annual event conducted nationally.

The Dean of FISIP Undip, in his address, emphasized the importance of FISIP Undip students’ participation in the Outstanding Student competition. He acknowledged that in recent years, FISIP Undip’s achievements in the Outstanding Student competition have been overshadowed by other faculties. Therefore, it is hoped that this year will produce students who can compete at the Undip and National levels. He stressed that the Outstanding Student competition is not just a competition but also an essential part of the cadreship process towards extraordinary Indonesian individuals.

The Pilmapres selection at FISIP Undip 2024 is a crucial moment for students to demonstrate their potential, dedication, and competence in building the nation’s future through active roles in academia and society.
