Undip to Sign 30 Cooperations with Overseas Partners during the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia 7-9 November 2023

Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) has been consistently engaging in international collaboration efforts as part of its commitment to realizing its vision as a World Class University. One of these endeavors was evident in Undip’s participation in international events, such as the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from November 7th to 9th, 2023.

During the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023, Undip embarked on a mission to foster international cooperation with foreign partner universities which also presented at the event. More than 1000 delegates and 88 universities from the Asia Pacific region congregated to explore how regional, national, and global collaborations could strengthen universities’ role as primary drivers of societal change. Universities in the Asia Pacific region united, focusing on ensuring that their graduates were equipped with relevant skills and knowledge to succeed in the workforce, despite numerous disruptors such as the emergence of automation and the gig economy.

The strengthening of collaborations and follow-up from the outcomes of the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 was a primary goal for the Undip delegation participating in the event. A total of 19 delegates from Universitas Diponegoro attended, led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation. The delegation was comprised of Deans from various faculties/schools, including Prof. Suharnomo (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business), Prof. Dwi Pudjonarko (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine), Prof. Retno Saraswati (Dean of the Faculty of Law), Prof. Tri Winarni Agustini (Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences), Prof. Bambang WHEP (Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences), Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri (Dean of the Faculty of Psychology), Prof. Hardi Warsono (Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Dr. Budiyono (Dean of the Faculty of Public Health), Dr. Nurhayati (Dean of the Faculty of Humanities), Prof. Budiyono (Dean of the Vocational School), Dr. R B Sularto (Dean of the Graduate School). Additionally, Prof. Denny Nugroho Sugianto and Dessy Ariyanti Ph.D., who are the Head and Vice Head of the Undip Ranking Office, as well as the WCU (World Class University) task force members, including Prof. Dr. Diana Nur Afifah, Yayuk Astuti, Ph.D., Ahmad Ni’matullah Al-Baarri, Ph.D., Ir. M. Arfan, S.Kom., M.Eng., Heriyanto, Ph.D., were also part of the delegation.

Key discussions during the event revolved around fostering collaboration between Undip and faculties/schools within Undip with foreign partner universities. This collaboration encompassed areas such as:

  1. Improvement Curriculum
  2. Internship Program
  3. Cooperative scientific research, publications & seminars/conferences
  4. Exchange and visiting of faculty and staff
  5. Exchange of undergraduate, post-graduate and research students
  6. Joint supervision of graduate students and research students

A total of 30 collaboration documents were successfully signed by the Undip delegation, comprising 3 Letters of Intent (LoI), 20 Memorandums of Agreement (MoA), and 7 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with various international partners.
