On the second day of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Undip’s Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) on July 15th, the new students were introduced to various aspects of campus life that are essential to support their academic and social experiences. One key point of focus was the introduction to the academic and learning systems at UNDIP, supported by information technology. New students were introduced to the Single Sign-On (SSO), the Academic Administration Information System (SIAP), and the UNDIP Blog as platforms for information dissemination and experience sharing.
Academic Regulations and Procedures within the University Environment
Furthermore, today’s session provided an understanding of the academic regulations and sanctions applicable within the university environment. This was aimed at ensuring that new students comprehend the proper ways of academic conduct and the consequences of any violations. Information regarding the procedures for establishing and enforcing academic regulations was also conveyed, ensuring that new students grasp the existing processes and mechanisms.
The Significance of Library Access and Higher Education Adaptation in the Industrial Revolution Era
Access to the library is equally imperative, prompting new FISIP Undip students to receive information on how to utilize this facility. Additionally, the importance of higher education adaptation in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and 5.0 formed an integral part of today’s agenda. This serves to equip new students with the readiness to confront challenges and opportunities arising from technological and innovative advancements.
Campus Life Culture, Environmental Awareness, and Student Activities
Introducing the culture, ethics, and norms of campus life represents another vital aspect. New students gain an understanding of how to interact healthily and harmoniously within the campus environment. Furthermore, fostering environmental consciousness and preparedness for disaster management was also emphasized.
The second day of the PKKMB program also introduced various student activities and organizations present within FISIP Undip. New students were provided with information about diverse platforms to develop interests, talents, leadership skills, and to actively participate in community development.
The delivery of these materials to new students involved lecturers from all departments within FISIP UNDIP, as well as actively engaged students from Student Organizations. Through these steps, this introduction to campus life is expected to offer a comprehensive perspective to new students. The activities of the second day of PKKMB also mark the conclusion of the series of events before new students proceed to engage in the Character Education Program (Pendikar) for the following three days.
