Celebrating the 170th Faculty Graduation Ceremony, FISIP UNDIP Performs Traditional Dance

At the FISIP Undip 170th Graduation Ceremony, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, representing the entire academic community of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, said that we all had to respect our teachers and parents because due to their services we could all get here and it was an extraordinary process to be grateful for. In his speech, he also gave a rhyme.

Boleh kita menumpang mandi

Kalo wisudawan sukses menjulang

Kepada ibumu ayahmu dosenmu harus berbakti

He concluded his remarks by saying that, “Knowledge, Alma Mater will be a good provision in pursuing a career after graduation, and let’s maintain good communication with each other, and hope that everyone can live a more successful life and today is the moment and those who are already working, this is the time to work better.

Furthermore, the Vice Dean of Resources, Ika Riswanti Putranti, S.H., M.H., Ph.D, said that the number of participants who attended the 170th graduation ceremony was 173 people with the details in the Doctoral program totaling 4 graduates, Master’s program totaling 15 graduates, and Bachelor’s program totaling 154 graduates. Meanwhile, the number of graduates with the title Cumlaude in the Doctoral program amounted to 2 people, the Master’s program amounted to 9 people, and the Bachelor’s program amounted to 108 people. Thus, the total number of students who graduated with Cumlaude predicate was 119 people.

Speaking on the occasion, Anjani Tri Fatharini, S.IP., M.A., Chair of the 170th Yudisium Committee, said that the ceremony had been designed in a sacred manner, but still gave an impression to the graduates. This was due to the entertainment that had been prepared by the committee.

“This joyful moment is the first gate for the graduates before contributing to the country,” said Anjani.

Furthermore, Gilda Maulina, S.AB, M.AB, as the Assistant of the Tatra Activity Management Unit (UPK) explained that traditional dances had become part of the graduation ceremony to express appreciation and support for the preservation of Indonesian culture. Gilda also added that this was the first time the Tatra FISIP UNDIP team performed a different dance from the previous Judicium Ceremony. At this Yudisium Ceremony, they performed the Geol Denok dance.

Geol Denok dance is a work of art created by a choreographer named Rimasari Paramesti Putri. This dance tells the story of young women or teenagers or children in the city of Semarang. On the other hand, this dance reflects the agility of women or denok who are growing up.

In addition to the Geol Denok Dance, the FISIP Undip 170th Graduation Ceremony also featured various performances from the FISIP Undip Choir who sang one of the songs entitled Rungkad, and UPK Sakutala FISIP Undip who performed two songs entitled “Ayah” and “Pasti Bisa”. Furthermore, the event ended with a group photo session with each study program.
