Semarang, io.undip.ac.id – Due to higher international mobility and public demand for education, in partnership with Diponegoro International Office, Kagoshima University has offered and opened the “Spring 2023 Exchange Program” nomination and application to encourage Universitas Diponegoro students to broaden their horizons and international exposure. To embrace the diversity of students’ purposes of study abroad, Kagoshima University provides two distinct course types. First, deepen knowledge in a particular field and aim to focus on specialized courses. Second, engaging with Japanese culture and language which have no particular requirement of specialized courses enrollment.
Required application documents:
- Application Form (Completed online and PDF copy will be provided)

- Official Academic Transcript
- Certificate of Student Registration/Enrollment
- Certificate of Language Proficiency (Japanese or English)
- Passport copy
- ID Photo(taken within the last 3 months)
- Health Certificate

Exchange Duration:
- One semester (2023 Spring Semester: April 2023 – September 2023)
- One year (2023 Spring and 2023 Fall Semester: April 2023 – March 2024)
Deadlines for the 2023 Spring Semester Exchange Program:
- Nominations : September,30th 2022 by 5:00 PM (Japan Standard Time (JST))
- Applications : October, 7th 2022 by 5:00 PM (JST)
Nomination Process:
Before nomination, please make sure the nominations are within the agreed number as written on our academic agreement. Please submit your nominations using the nomination form (attached excel file) to the following email address: ryugaku@kuas.kagoshima-u.ac.jp
Application Process:
Once nominations are approved, we will contact the nominated students (and cc you) regarding the online application process. The students will complete the application form and upload all required documents online by 2022/October/7 5:00PM (JST).
You will need to fill in the following details for each student: First name; Last name; Date of Birth; Exchange Duration; Email; Gender; Degree; Major and Expected graduation date. If your university is required to earn credits for specialized courses in undergraduate and graduate classes, please check the language requirements carefully in the Student Exchange Program Information Sheet. Almost all the specialized classes are offered in Japanese. So to earn the credit on the specialized courses, JLPT N2 or higher is needed.

Important Notes:
- This program does not offer scholarships (including JASSO) for exchange students. Please understand that the students have to prepare their own living expenses. They need at least 100,000yen/month for living in Kagoshima. There is almost no recruitment of a part-time job at present.
- Admission result will be announced in the late December.
- We will inform you about the health certificate later around January.
