Semarang– On May 14-19 2022, the University of Indonesia FISIP League Council held a prestigious annual national sports event and competition specifically for students from social and humanities groups called Liga FISIP UI 2022. FISIP UI League is an effort or step in increasing awareness regarding socio-political issues in the field of sports through the medium of social campaigns and sports competitions. The 2022 FISIP UI League brings two sports, namely futsal and basketball, which can be participated by social and humanities students throughout Java to show their potential and abilities.
Basketball team UNDIP FISIP doesn’t want to miss this golden opportunity. UPK Globies FISIP took advantage of this event as a place to show their qualified skills. Departing with 15 delegates, namely Nabil Makarim (Communication Science), Dhaifah Salhan (International Relations), Ananta Dandy (International Relations), Joshua (Business Administration), Mohammad Mahdi (Business Administration), Fathan Syuro (Government Science), Kana Kautsar ( Government Science), Kevin Pieter (Communication Science), Muhammad Zainul (Communication Science), Reigo Zaul (Communication Science), Achmad Aldi (Government Science), Ghassan Ahmad (Government Science), Topo Adi (Communication Science), Raynal Sitompul (Science Government), and Theophilus Aglis (Government Science), Globies FISIP steadily visited the host of the event. Armed with a slick and beautiful game in five games against FIKOM UP, FISIP UHAMKA, FEB UNDIP,
The victory achieved by Globies FISIP UNDIP is not an instant achievement but requires the full effort of each player. One of the delegations from the FISIP UNDIP team, Reigo Zaul, revealed a fact that it turns out that the preparations made by Globies FISIP UNDIP are still far from adequate. The formation of the new patent team was carried out approximately two months before the competition. Also, the training was carried out by the selected players in their respective homes because of their far apart domiciles. When D-2 is a race, then all members of the delegation are gathered for a one-hour joint practice agenda. Although it is relatively short in practice, any shortcomings can be overcome because the players can create a pleasant atmosphere and build strong chemistry quickly. It means,
Becoming 1st Place in the 2022 FISIP UI League is proof that FISIP Globies can compete on the national level. This victory was also the first for FISIP Globies who had never previously won first place in various competitions. This creates a distinct impression for the delegates. Kevin Pieter did not think he and the team could go that far.
“It’s ridiculous. Because as we said earlier, we didn’t have any intense preparation or training. So, at first, I thought I would get third place. Uh! Soon enough, they made it to the semifinals and went on to the finals. Then, in the final, I won, I didn’t expect it. Rich, happy, but strange,” said Kevin frankly on Saturday (4/6).
A proud impression also came from one of the other delegates, namely Reigo Zaul. “Honestly, I’m proud, and I didn’t expect to be a champion in the FISIP UI League and make FISIP UNDIP proud, which is finally known and cannot be underestimated in the field of sport. Hopefully, in the future we can continue to carry the name of FISIP UNDIP even further, “explained Reigo with enthusiasm on Saturday (4/6).
Hopefully, this FISIP Globies victory will be a good start for the UNDIP basketball club and even though it is classified as a non-academic field, basketball will no longer be underestimated. Hopefully, the UNDIP basketball club will get more support from internal parties because in the future there will be many challenges and of course, it will require high mental strength. A message for players not to be carried away by this victory because, in essence, the struggle is still long for players who are still young.
