In order to train the leadership and entrepreneurial spirit of the students especially those receiving the Bidikmisi scholarship/KIPK, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) on Tuesday (23/11) at 08.00 GMT+7 at Building I Auditorium of the Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty, Undip Tembalang Campus had held leadership and entrepreneurial training.

The leadership and entrepreneurial training event was attended by the Vice-Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D., Director of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni, Hanifa Maher Denny, S.KM., M.P.H., Ph.D., Vice Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H., Head of Academic Administration Bureau and Student Affairs, Edy Surahman, S.Pd., M.Si., Vice Director of Academic, Dr Eng. Agus Setyawan, S.Si., M.Si., and Manager of Student Affairs, Muntafi’, S.Sos.

Moreover, this training also invited the owner of PT. Smile Papua and PT. Papua Maju Sejahtera, Mayor Arh. H. Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo and the head of the Undip KKIB Business Incubator, Idris, S.E., M.Si., and was moderated by the Vice Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H., and Manager of the Student Affairs, Muhammad Muntafi’, S.Sos.

In his speech, the Vice-Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D., conveyed that after graduating, students were expected to act as the job creators, in such a way they could live independently and help the welfare of others.

“So when you are graduated, you don’t have to work for other people, but you can work independently and carry out the knowledge you have learned. Thus, you can be those who act as job creators and present the result of your work for the welfare of others”, said Prof Budi.

Prof Budi added that in 2021 Undip had attained the first rank in Indonesia in the QS WUR Graduate Employability Rankings. Therefore, it showed that the Undip’s graduates were considered to be the fastest in getting a job.

“In 2021, Undip has been assessed by the QS, an International Ranking Agency, as the number one University in the context of Graduate Employability Rankings. This means that Undip is a University that is considered to be the fastest in delivering its graduates to get a job, either they work independently or for a company or other institution. So, there are two segments namely job creator and job seeker, and in both Undip is ranked first in Indonesia”, added Prof Budi.

This event was continued with presentations on how to start a business, as well as how to lead and manage it. The presentations were brought by the owner of PT. Smile Papua and PT. Papua Maju Sejahtera, Mayor Arh. H. Yoyok Riyo Sudibyo and the Head of Undip KKIB Business Incubator, Idris, S.E., M.Si.
