Commodity Product Digitalization Assistance By Undip Community Service Team At Ponggok Village, Klaten District

The Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) Community Service Team visited the Ponggok Village, Klaten District on November 12, 2021. It was a part of the community service program which carried out a theme “Commodity Product Digitalization Assistance at Ponggok village, Klaten district”.

Undip Team had coordinated this program with the chief of Ponggok village concerning the tourism potential at Ponggok village, Klaten district. The dominant potential was the springs which were utilized for the tourism development at Ponggok village.

There were 4 water recreations at Ponggok village, namely the Umbul Ponggok, Umbul Sigedang, Umbul Kapilaler, and Umbul Besuki. Those potentials were located in every hamlet and they were managed by the Community Empowerment of Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and Village-owned enterprises (Bumdes) of each hamlet.

The Undip Community Service Team while in coordination with the Chief of Ponggok village at the Village Head Office.

“These tourism potentials have succeeded in boosting the local economy, which used to only come from agriculture. Ponggok Tourist Village brought the spirit of sustainable eco-tourism where the local community come together in protecting the balance of the nature and environment”, said Junaidi as the Chief of the Ponggok village.

Meanwhile, the Community Service Team consisted of lecturers with multi-disciplinary backgrounds namely Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T,Ph.D., Girindra Putri Ardana Reswari, S.Pd., M.Sc. and Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D. On the other side, there were also several students joining the program. They were Alvina Nadia Darmawan, Almas Zakiy Firdaus and Uzma Syarifatul Muna S.

The Digitalization Assistance program by Undip Team was aimed to facilitate the water tourism potential at Ponggok village by integrating the existing related units into one digital platform. (US-AS)
