Semarang, Central Java (27/10). A total of 37 Student Creativity Program (PKM) Teams at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) Semarang have prepared themselves to compete in the final of the 34th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in 2021.
Undip specifically held various training centre activities and mentoring programs for the Undip PKM contingent to prepare the completeness of their articles, posters, and videos in order to be able to win various medal categories and be nominated as the General Champion.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., directly gave support and motivation to the Undip contingent to perform well. “Show to the jury that you truly master the material,” said Prof. Yos, the Undip Rector’s nickname during the briefing on Wednesday (13/10).
According to Prof. Yos, the packaging of the material and the explanation of the research material were also important because it would affect the judgment of the jury.
“How do you pack it from what you show, and it’s easy to be understood. Do not give difficult explanations, so the diction must be right. At certain times, you can use a foreign language, but don’t overdo it. That’s why appearance is important, easy to be understood, and simplified,” he explained.
Prof. Yos hoped that, apart from being the general champion at the 34th PIMNAS, the Undip PKM contingent also needed to cultivate a spirit of sportsmanship in competing.
“It’s better not to wear a crown than to wear a fake one. Therefore, I also hope that you will later win it with a knight. Win with honesty. Because actually, our highest crown is an achievement with sportsmanship”, added Prof. Yos.
Prof. Yos also encouraged the Universitas Diponegoro PKM contingent. “So if it is implanted here that I will become a champion, InsyaAllah, you will be a champion. That’s why I think what you are doing, raise the spirit within you, pump yourself up. Don’t worry, don’t hesitate, and don’t feel inferior. Show that we come from the greatest university”, said Prof. Yos.
In his report, the Vice-Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs at Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos, M.Pol.Admin, PhD., explained that this activity lasted for 3 days and was attended by 37 PKM teams who qualified for the 34th PIMNAS.
