Carrying the tagline “Globalization, Collaboration, Acceleration”, Undip Confirms as an Excellent Research University On the 64th Anniversary

Semarang, Central Java (13/10). Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) Semarang will hold an academic ceremony for the 64th Anniversary on October 15, 2021. By carrying the tagline “Globalization, Collaboration, Acceleration” Undip will continue to give contribution and innovation for the benefit of the people.

One of the innovations to be proud of and is proven to have contributed to the medical field is the Medical Ozone Generator (GOM). The innovation product developed by Undip’s Center for Plasma Research (CPR), with a touch of ozone plasma technology, has the potential to be applied in the medical field. This plasma technology is beneficial for sterilization, reducing the air pollution in the waiting rooms, and preventing any nosocomial transmission in hospitals. On the other hand, plasma technology, especially the one with dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) and Double dielectric barrier discharge (DDBD) reactors can be used for generating ozone.

This medical ozone in the Commercial Competitive Rispro LPDP program is the one used for adjuvant/additional therapy on diabetes mellitus wound therapy. The therapy method used is the ozone bagging, a collaboration between the CPR and researchers from the Medical Faculty and Master of Biomedical program. The application has been declared safe and allowed to be used in the International world.

Nevertheless, a medical ozone generator with a good standard is still needed in order to obtain optimal and safe benefits for human health. According to the dosage, a good GOM should refer to the International standard issued by Dr. J. Hänsler.

“This means that it is not only Undip’s achievements that have gone global but also Undip’s researches which start to be recognized by the international world”,

“Not only the research that is improving but also the students’ achievements that deserve to be proud of”, added Prof Yos as he is familiarly called.

Those Undip’s achievements are the results of the collaboration of all elements namely the lecturers, staff, students, alumni and all the campus citizens.
