“The time when I joined the State University Entrance Exam or UMPTN of 2001, the Communication Science was my second choice after the Medical study program. At that time, I was eager to study at Universitas Diponegoro in order to find my favourite majority and it turned out that Communication Science was one of them. I thought it might be fun to learn the communication study. After I learnt it, it actually was an interesting subject of study, how we communicate effectively and construct strategy in communicating” said Lusiana Indira Isni, S.Sos, M.I.Kom, alumni of the Communication Science of Social and Political Sciences Faculty, Universitas Diponegoro.

“Currently, I work as a Civil  Servant at Regional Government of Brebes, as the Head of Communication and Public Relations Office of Communication, Informatics and Statistics. In the beginning, I had never thought that I would be a civil servant. After graduating in 2005, I used to work at 2 big hotels in Semarang. After that, my parents asked me to try the CPNS test at the beginning of 2006. In 2009, I was part of the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the Regional Secretariat and in 2012, I was trusted to be the Head of the Public Relations section. In 2017, I worked at the Communication and Public Relations Office of Communication, Informatics and Statistics where I became the Head of Public Relations and Public Communication. In 2018, I was in charge as the Head of Communication and Public Relations until now” she said.

Lusi said that the kinship atmosphere in Undip, especially in the Communication department was very strong. The relationship between lecturers and the students was fun and they could mingle with each other. Those things had driven her to continue her study at Undip’s Master of Communication Science in 2010. The knowledge she gained could be applied to her job.

“Since I was a kid, my parents always told me that education was a very valuable asset. They said that we were not a wealthy family with abundant treasure, yet they always did their best to support our educations so that we could be independent persons. It becomes my value, through education, we don’t just gain knowledge and self-actualization or career support but also share inspiration and motivation especially for the children someday. So, do not be hesitate to pursue whatever knowledge it is, learn it with a burning passion. Later on, you will feel the benefit” she said. (Linda – Public Relations)
