Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Universitas Diponegoro held a Manuscript Training/Clinic and International Publication Submission Batch XLC of 2021, (6/9). Presenting as the speakers in that event were Prof. Dr. Istadi, S.T., MT (Undip) and Prof. Dr. Zinatul Ashiqin Zainol, LLB, LLM, Ph.D from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)/The National University of Malaysia.
In his material on Strategies for Choosing Journals as Places for Scientific Publications, he said that quality research publications, including a comprehensive overview of literature, namely those that support novelty or novelty contributions. The research process that used the right method and quality research results analysis, meant that it required time, complete/sufficient and up-to-date research laboratory equipment and appropriate research methods. Writing good and quality scientific articles, which is related to the quality of reference literature and the good process of research results analysis. Furthermore, the selection of the right scientific journal as a place of scientific publication.
“Selecting scientific journals, prioritize journals that are free first or may also choose the paid ones to get the open access full-text pdf, get Citations quickly, and if there is a budget. Searching for target journals as places for scientific publications can be done through ScimagoJR, Master Journal List-Web of Science, Elsevier Journal Finder, , Taylor&Francis Journal Finder, Scopus Source List. You can search for national journals on the SINTA portal,” he explained.
On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Zinatul Ashiqin Zainol said about 6 things that must be done before writing a manuscript, namely thinking about why you want to publish the work and whether it could be published, determining the type of manuscript to be written, choosing a target journal, paying attention to the journal requirements to guide the author, paying attention to the structure of the manuscript and understanding the ethics of publication to avoid any violation.
“Answer your goal, don’t repeat the introduction in the conclusion. If you have two goals, both should be answered in the conclusion. Write the conclusion in proper paragraphs, not in numbers. Include practical, social, industrial, community implications if they are relevant and include recommendations for future work if they are suitable” said Prof. Zinatul. (Linda Public Relations)
