The Central Laboratory of the Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) is currently being prepared for the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination. Vaccination activity is planned to start on Thursday this week (05/08/2021). In the initial stage, vaccination is intended for students and families of Universitas Diponegoro employees. Vaccination registration can be done through SSO (Single Sign On) Universitas Diponegoro, by registering your full name and NIK.

Acting official Vice-Rector for Communication and Business Undip, Dwi Cahyo Utomo, SE., MA., Ph.D while observing the preparation of vaccination sites on Monday afternoon (02/08/2021), explained that this vaccination service is part of Undip’s efforts to prevent the spread of the virus and fortify the Undip families big from being exposed by Covid-19.

“All Undip employees have been vaccinated, but their families have not been vaccinated. Now their family members also need to be vaccinated to protect and gain immunity from being exposed by Covid-19. Likewise for Undip students, many have not received vaccinations. For this reason, in the early stages, our priority is Undip students and the employees’ families. The next stage will be opened to the community around Tembalang, “explained Dwi Cahyo.

The implementation of this vaccination is under the supervision of doctors and RSND medical staff who have experience in administering vaccinations. The smoothness of the vaccination process also depends on the results of registration and confirmation of participants to come.

“RSND once held vaccinations, but it was only for doctors and medical staff. This vaccination activity has made us have a vaccine team of 15 doctors and medical staff who are reliable and experienced in carrying out vaccinations. To vaccinate Undip students and the employees’ families, we will increase the number of doctors and medical staff to 23 people with a target of 400 people per day. If it goes well, the target can be increased to 700 people,” explained Dr. dr. Sutopo Patria Jati, MM., M.Kes as the Director of RSND.

The success of the vaccination implementation at the RSND Central Laboratory cannot be separated from the role of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. Besides the Faculty of Medicine lecturers, who are also experienced doctors of the RSND, the Undip Faculty of Medicine plans to also deploy students and resident doctors to help the vaccination process. This was conveyed by the Dean of the Undip Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Dwi Pudjonarko, M.Kes., Sp.S(K).

“This vaccination centre cannot be separated from the role of the Undip Medical Faculty as a source of the human resources. Our lecturers are also doctors at RNSD. Students, residents are all involved in the success of the Undip’s program as a vaccination centre,” said Prof. Onang, the nickname of the Dean of Undip Medical Faculty.

The Central Laboratory located in the RSND complex was chosen as the right place to carry out the vaccinations. Besides being comfortable and always kept clean, the place is spacious. So, it is easy to implement the health protocols. However, setting the vaccine schedule for participants needs to be strictly regulated. For this reason, it is hoped that vaccine participants who have registered through SSO should come in time according to a predetermined schedule. This is to prevent the accumulation of participants and avoid crowds. The type of vaccine that will be given is Sinovac which has been declared to meet the international standards by WHO, either in the manufacturing process, safety and efficacy.
