SEMARANG – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) Semarang is hosting the National Conference of IMABI ( Indonesian Business Administration Student Association) of 2021 which will be held for six days, starting from Monday (26/7/2021) to Saturday, (31/7/2021). This year, the IMABI national conference has a theme related to society 5.0, which has been processing.

Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Undip, Dr. Hardi Warsono, in his speech said that the national conference with the theme “Creativepreneurship as Strength in Facing Society 5.0” according to him, it is an important to be carried out to accommodate student aspirations. The Issues, namely the society 5.0 and creativepreneurship are two relevant issues to be understood together.

“Society 5.0 is a society that can solve various challenges and social problems by utilizing various innovations that were born in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0,” said Dr. Hardi, in his remarks broadcasted by Undip TV Official. Please note that this national conference must be held and carry out the health protocols due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to him, the existence of the internet, artificial intelligence, and big data must be utilized properly by the Society 5.0 to improve the human quality. Furthermore, according to him, society 5.0 can also be interpreted as a concept of a human-centered and technology-based society.

He also said that education in the 20th and 21st centuries was not the same. In the 20th century, education focused on children and information sourced from books, and tended to focus on local and national areas.

“Meanwhile at the end of the 20th century, every child is a learning community. Learning is obtained from various sources, not only from books, but also from various other sources such as the internet, various kinds of technology and information, as well as global curriculum developments in Indonesia which is then interpreted as independent learning, “explained Dr. Hardi.

In more detail, the 21st century education model, according to him, focused on the 4Cs, namely creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. In facing the society 5.0, according to him, there were several basic sciences that must be mastered, namely data literacy, technological literacy, and human literacy.

“IMABI is a gathering place and an academic forum that carries out academic traditions and unites the steps of business administration students, especially in developing an entrepreneurial spirit which is increasingly important in the concept of independent learning in an independent campus,” he said.

Furthermore, he said, IMABI was a forum to contribute in realizing student unity and brotherhood among student institutions for business and operations throughout Indonesia. “IMABI was also formed with the aim of exploring, experiencing, and developing insight and creativity as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of its members. So, independence in society, nation and state can be maximized,” he said.

Closing his remarks, he hoped that the 2021 IMABI national conference would run successfully and smoothly and provide the greatest benefit for the progress of science and students themselves.

Meanwhile, representing the Chairman of the AIABI (Association of Indonesian Business Administration Sciences), the management of AIABI Dr.Rer.Pol. Alexander Yoseph Agung Nugroho said, AIABI as a forum for managing business administration study programs throughout Indonesia provided support for the 2021 IMABI conference activities.

According to him, the conference theme was a relevant theme for current conditions. Through this theme, AIABI thinks IMABI management had succeeded in responding to the Society 5.0 by responding to it. As it was well known, Society 5.0 appeared in Japan as a response to the development of the industrial revolution 4.0.

It was also important to know that the Society 5.0 consists of humans who are able to create new value through technological developments and minimize human inequality and economic problems. “This concept allows us to use science based on modern knowledge such as robots and the Internet of Things, IoT, for humans so that humans can live comfortably,” he said.

Yoseph Agung Nugroho hoped that the 2021 IMABI Conference would run successfully and smoothly. “I hope that a new board of directors will bring IMABI to become a forum for developing the young generation of Indonesian business administration students to become graduates who have good character, professionalism and are equipped with the competencies needed in the future,” he said.
