QS Graduate Employability Rankings Of 2020: UNDIP Ranks 3rd In Indonesia

World University rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the results of the world ranking for the Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020 category. Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) successfully ranked 3rd in Indonesia and was in 301st-500th in the World.

As reported from https://www.topuniversities.com/employability-rankings/methodology, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020 used 5 performance indicators to perform the global rating calculations. These indicators were: Employer Reputation (30%), Alumni Outcomes (25%), Employer – Student Connections (10%), Partnerships with Employers (25%), and Graduate Employment Rate (10%).

The calculation result of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020 for Universitas Diponegoro based on data from each indicator was: Employer Reputation (11.8), Alumni Outcomes (13.0), Employer – Student Connections (77.8), Partnerships with Employers (1.8), and Graduate Employment Rate (97.2). The total score of Undip was 97.2 points. Thus, it brought Undip in 3rd place nationally.

Regarding the assessment table on https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/employability-rankings/2020 page,Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020 referred to the alphabet for the same range of rank groups of 301-500. If the calculation and analysis of data were based on existing indicators, then undip’s total score ranged from 15.8-27.5 points.

With a very strict assessment, only 6 universities in Indonesia were able to be included in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings 2020. It was dominated by state universities. The rankings were Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Diponegoro, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Gadjah Mada, dan Universitas Indonesia.

As for the World level, based on the results of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020, placing Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the first place. The college, located in the City of Cambridge, recorded a total score of 100. Second-place was Stanford University which had a total score of 98.6 points. Third place was achieved by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a total score of 98.3 points.

Based on the results of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Graduate Employability Rankings of 2020, it showed the speed and accuracy of Undip’s graduates in getting a job. So, it could show that Undip graduates were easy to get a job.

In addition, the results of this rating had become one of the references used by prospective new students and their families in choosing a college. These results could also be used by the government and universities themselves to determine the next policy direction to be implemented. (DHANY-PR)
