UNDIP 2021 Independent Test (UM) Line Will Accept 5,089 New Students

SEMARANG – New student admission Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) of the 2021/2022 Academic Year through the UM line will be opened on Monday (April 19th, 2021), and end up on Thursday (June 17th, 2021). The Independent Test (UM) Line provides quite large alocation, namely 50% of the total students accepted in the 2021/2022 Academic Year or equivalent to 5.089 students.

The large quota for the UM Line certainly provides greater opportunities for the prospective students to be accepted at the state universities located in the Tembalang area of ​​Semarang. The Vice Rector I for the Academic and Student Affairs UNDIP, Prof Budi Setiyono Ph.D, said that the new students screening is based on the Rector’s Decree Number 26/UN7.P/PH/2021, on the determination of the capacity of the new undergraduate program students of UNDIP in 2021/2022.

As the Legal Entity State Universities (PTN-BH), UNDIP took the policy by alocating 50% of the total students accepted through the UM Line. Meanwhile, half of the other students were selected through the Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN) Line, namely, as much as 20% and the Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) as much as 30%. The basis of the policy is the Article 6 Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 2020.

Undip on the 2021/2022 academic year for its 11 faculties has accepted as much as 10.190 new students of the undergraduate program. In detail, there are 2.038 students accepted through the SNMPTN Line, 3.063 students by the SBMPTN Line, and 5.089 students accepted through the UM Line. In this context, the UM Line is devided into two programs, namely as much as 4.686 students through the UM regular line; and 403 students through the UM International Undergraduate Program (IUP). IUP Program is a lecture in a special class which uses the English as its communication media in all campus activities.

The Vice Rector I UNDIP, Budi Setiyono, on Thursday (15/4/2021) confirmed that the New Student admission system through the UM Line would no longer use the score of the Computer Based Written Test (UTBK) as its basic reception. Yet, it would combine the score of the online test with the prospective student’s portfolio. The online test would be held in 10 days, started on June 21st, until July 3rd, 2021 where each session would be carried out three times. The material of the online test consists of the scholastic potency test (TPS) and the academic potency test (TPA). These tests would be carried out through the UNDIP’s portal with a strict supervision through the ZOOM apps.

The score of the portfolio mentioned before means the score of the students’ achievement during their study at school (Senior High School / Vocational School and equivalent institution), from the first semester until sixth semester; added with the general knowledge of the national insight. The result of the last test will be processed by the UM UNDIP committee and will be announced on the following July 7th, 2021. (PR team)
