UniRank required three criteria for universities to be included in its ranking. The second one was that it must offer a four-year undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The third requirement was to provide the education in traditional, face-to-face and non-distance formats.
The technical assessment for the UniRank was carried out using an algorithm system from five websites that were considered neutral and independent, namely the Moz Domain Authority, Alexa Global Rank, SimilarWeb Global Rank, Majestic Reffering Domains, and Majestic Trust Flow. “Our goal is to provide non-academic rankings of the best universities in Indonesia based on valid, unbiased and unaffected web metrics, derived from independent web information sources, not from data submitted by the universities,” this was the statement accompanying the publication of the 2021 edition of the 4ICU UniRank.
