Monday, (18/1) Universitas Diponegoro held an online event called Pendidikan Karakter for new students in 2020/2021 through the Microsoft Teams apps. The event was attended by the UNDIP’s Rector, Prof. Yos Johan Utama, the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D, the Deans, the Chairperson of the PSDKU Management Institute, the Vice Deans of the Academic and Student Affairs for Faculties / Schools, UNDIP’s student structural officials, and around 8451 new students of the 2020 class. The event was held in order to increase the sense of nationalism towards the Republic of Indonesia and to form strong, adaptive, intelligent and ethical students.
The event was began with an activity report by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Budi Setiyono, S.Sos., M.Pol.Admin., Ph.D. He reported that the theme of the 2020 lecture was “Tough, Adaptive, Intelligent and Ethical” which meant that new students could find their identity, their potential to be further developed and to recognize the UNDIP and its surrounding, as well as to generate creations and innovations in such a way that they are able to see their potential abilities for the mutual benefit.
“The 2020 pendikar activity lasts for 3 days and is coordinated directly by the university team under the supervision of Dr. Hastaning Sakti and the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP team, ” said Prof. Budi.
On this occasion, The UNDIP’s Rector, Prof. Yos Johan Utama gave a speech and opened the 2020 pendikar event. Yos said that one of the basic foundations of the Universitas Diponegoro, namely the Pancasila ideology, we tried to carry out all activities in Undip based on the Pancasila principles, so that there would be no conflict between interests.
“The values mentioned above must be in our identity, especially students who will become the nation’s future successors. Therefore, a character is formed in Undip consisting of communicator, professional, leadership, entrepreneurial and educate characteristics,” said the Rector. It was hoped that the orientation of this character could make a complete Undip’s graduate.
