Saturday, October 12, 2019 – The Community Service Division implemented its work program, Goes to Action, which consisted of a seminar and social discussion on disaster and disaster mitigation. This activity took place from 09:00 to 13:00 at the FISIP Undip Theater Room, with the number of participants and invitees around 50 people. This activity included a seminar presented by three speakers from BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), ACT (Aksi Cepat Tanggap – a humanitarian NGO), and a Facilitator from the Turun Tangan Community. In between the sessions, there was also a community expo filled by several communities engaged in environmental, social, and volunteer fields, such as Forum Indonesia Muda Semarang, Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia Semarang, Greenpeace, and Great Semarang.
The event was also enlivened by Teater Dewandaru as entertainment between the material sessions, and was concluded with a disaster mitigation practice led directly by BPBD.
This activity aimed to provide knowledge about disasters, what actions should be taken when a disaster occurs, and rapid response actions in facing and assisting disaster victims.
