FISIP UNDIP Holds Ambassadorial Lecture with the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam

Semarang, UNDIP – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP), once again hosted an international academic forum through an Ambassadorial Lecture with representatives of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. This event was held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the FISIP UNDIP Theater Room, from 09:30 to 11:30 AM WIB.

This prestigious event featured Mr. Igor Pronobis, First Secretary of the Delegation of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, as the keynote speaker, presenting the theme: “EU–Indonesia Relations in a Changing Global Order: Sustainability, Digital Transformation, and Strategic Partnerships.”

This theme is highly relevant amid the rapidly evolving global dynamics, particularly concerning digital transformation, sustainable development, and the strengthening of strategic partnerships between Indonesia and the European Union. Through this forum, students and the academic community of FISIP UNDIP are expected to gain global insights into the direction of contemporary international relations and future geopolitical challenges.

This Ambassadorial Lecture is also part of the implementation and follow-up of the international cooperation between FISIP UNDIP and the European Union, established through a previous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration reflects FISIP UNDIP’s commitment to strengthening campus internationalization and opening academic dialogue spaces with global institutions and actors.

The Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, delivered opening remarks and welcomed the European Union delegation alongside the faculty leadership. The presence of EU diplomats in the academic environment of FISIP UNDIP marks an important moment in strengthening international networks and enhancing the globally oriented academic atmosphere.

The event series began with a reception for the delegation at the Dean’s Reception Room, followed by a public lecture session, an interactive discussion with students, and a concluding networking session. Students from various study programs within FISIP showed great enthusiasm, as the theme closely relates to strategic global issues such as Indonesia-EU bilateral relations, digital transformation, sustainability, and international cooperation.

Beyond serving as a platform for knowledge transfer and academic diplomacy, this activity also reflects FISIP UNDIP’s active role as a higher education institution adaptive to global developments. Forums such as the Ambassadorial Lecture strengthen students’ capacity to understand diplomatic practices, international relations, and global policy dynamics directly from international practitioners.

Through this activity, FISIP UNDIP reaffirms its commitment to continuing to provide inclusive, progressive, and globally oriented learning spaces aimed at strengthening student competencies at the international level.
