Semarang, 23 April 2026 – The Research Division of the Department of Research and Achievement (Risetif), under the Communication Science Study Program Student Association (HMPS) of Universitas Diponegoro, successfully organized the Book Party 2026 on Thursday, April 23, 2026. This literacy-focused event took place offline at the back stage of Building B, FISIP Universitas Diponegoro. Carrying the theme “Becoming the Main Character,” the event was attended by 36 participants from the Communication Science department of Universitas Diponegoro.
Book Party 2026 was designed as a platform to cultivate literacy interests while providing a warm and inclusive book discussion forum for Communication Science students at Universitas Diponegoro. The event was hosted by the MC, Rumaisha Himaehe Rahnavard Said, who guided the proceedings from start to finish. Participants were divided into four small groups, each accompanied by a discussion facilitator—namely Senna Deca Caesario, Shafa Sylvia Rahma, Muhammad Hudzaifah Makarim, and Fany D.F. Sihombing.
The event officially opened at 2:00 PM WIB by the MC with an expression of gratitude to God Almighty and a collective prayer. The MC then introduced the facilitators for each group and read through the event rundown. At 2:03 PM WIB, the silent reading session commenced and lasted for 45 minutes until 2:48 PM WIB. During this session, participants were immersed in their respective readings, ranging from political books, novels, and history books to motivational titles and books on national economics. Meanwhile, several committee members also participated in the reading activity.

The next segment was the reviewing session, which began at 2:48 PM WIB and lasted for 60 minutes. One by one, participants shared the contents of the books they had read with great enthusiasm and detail. The discussion evolved organically, moving beyond just books to touch upon other topics such as film, music, and other personal interests. The fluid and friendly atmosphere made the session feel like a casual conversation among friends, while remaining intellectually meaningful. The reviewing session concluded at 3:48 PM WIB. At 3:50 PM WIB, the event moved into the closing session.
The MC expressed gratitude to all participants, followed by a group documentation session with both participants and the committee. Book Party 2026 was officially closed at 4:00 PM WIB.
Through Book Party 2026, the Department of Research and Achievement of HMPS Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Diponegoro hopes that this activity can serve as a starting point for the growth of a strong literacy culture among Communication Science students. The Book Party is expected to have an impact beyond simply encouraging a passion for reading; it aims to empower students to continuously explore ideas, find the courage to share perspectives, and build sustainable critical thinking habits.
