Semarang, May 22, 2026 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University organized a book review event entitled “Shortcut to Choice Theories in Political Science” on Friday (22/5) at the Theater Room, Building C, 1st Floor, FISIP Undip. This event served as an academic forum to deepen understanding of various theories in political science as well as to promote a culture of literacy and scholarly discussion among students and academics alike.
The event was officially opened with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin.. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of strengthening the academic culture through written works and discussion forums that can enrich students’ insights, particularly in understanding contemporary political dynamics through theoretical approaches.
The event then continued with the ceremonial handover of the book authored by Dr. Muhammad Adnan, M.A., an academic from the Department of Politics and Government Science, FISIP Undip and political expert, to the faculty. Following this ceremony, the book’s author also delivered a speech and presented the background to the writing of “Shortcut to Choice Theories in Political Science.” In his presentation, he explained that this book was created to help students understand political theories more concisely, systematically, and applicatively.

The core session of the event, consisting of discussion and book review, featured several speakers: Wijayanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Partnerships, and Public Communication at Diponegoro University as well as an expert in digital politics, and Dr. Mohammad Saleh, S.T., M.EN., a political practitioner from the Golkar Party. The discussion was moderated by Hendra Try Ardianto, S.IP., M.A., who led the dialogue in an interactive and dynamic manner.
During the discussion, the speakers addressed the relevance of political theories to the development of modern politics, including digital political challenges, voter behavior, and current political practices in Indonesia. The enthusiasm of participants was evident from the active involvement of students in posing questions and sharing viewpoints throughout the session. Through this event, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University hopes to continue fostering the creation of productive, critical, and inspiring academic spaces for the academic community in developing political science studies that are relevant to the times.
