Semarang, March 4, 2026 – The Student Association for Social Welfare (UPK Himpunan Mahasiswa Peduli Sosial / HIMPS), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, organized a “Sharing is Caring” (SIC) event at the Darussalam Prayer Room and Quranic Education Center (TPQ) in Semarang. Carrying the theme “Sharing Love, Building Friendships, and Spreading Joy to Create Shared Warmth,” the initiative aimed to foster empathy and compassion for others, particularly for children in need of attention and affection. Through the distribution of meals and direct interaction with the TPQ children, SIC is expected to serve as a platform for UPK HIMPS members to strengthen the value of social solidarity within the community.
The series of activities commenced at 3:00 PM local time with the arrival of the committee at the venue—the Darussalam Prayer Room and TPQ. Upon arrival, the committee held a brief briefing to ensure the smooth execution of all events. Concurrently, several members prepared food packages and organized other necessary supplies within the prayer room area. At approximately 3:30 PM, the event continued with participant registration, attended by the children of TPQ Darussalam.

The program was officially opened by the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at 3:40 PM, marking the start of the Sharing is Caring activities. Following the opening, remarks were delivered by the Vice Chair of UPK, a religious instructor from TPQ Darussalam, and the Event Coordinator. In their speeches, they expressed gratitude to TPQ Darussalam for granting the committee the opportunity to host the event, alongside hopes that the activities would bring benefit and happiness to the children present.
Entering the main segment around 4:00 PM, an inspirational storytelling session was led by Almanurul Jannah through the screening of a video depicting the exemplary story of one of the prophets. During this session, TPQ children were actively encouraged to participate, including by inviting three children to come forward and recite Surah Al-Ikhlas. This activity was conducted in a warm atmosphere, met with great enthusiasm from the participants.

Following the inspirational storytelling, the event continued with an ice-breaking session featuring a whiteboard marker relay game designed to lighten the mood and enhance interaction between the committee and the TPQ children. The game successfully created a joyful and unified atmosphere. Subsequently, at 4:20 PM, the committee distributed food to all participants as an expression of shared happiness with the TPQ children. The event then proceeded to a group photo session involving all committee members and the TPQ children for documentation purposes. On the same occasion, the committee also presented a monetary donation and a certificate to the mosque administrator and the chairman of the TPQ foundation as a gesture of appreciation and support for the educational activities at TPQ Darussalam.
The SIC event officially concluded at 5:00 PM, as announced by the MC, signaling the end of all scheduled activities. Through this initiative, it is hoped that the values of empathy, social awareness, and a spirit of sharing will continue to grow among university students and the broader community. Beyond bringing happiness to the TPQ children, this event also served as a valuable experience for UPK HIMPS members in directly engaging with the community and reinforcing their commitment to spreading goodness through various future social initiatives.
