Community Service Division of HMPS HI UNDIP Hosts HI BerAksis 2026: Inspiring Students to Spread the Spirit of Giving

Semarang – The International Relations Student Association (HMPS HI) of Diponegoro University (Undip) once again welcomed the holy month of Ramadan by organizing its annual program, HI BerAksis 2026. Held on Friday (13/3/2026) under the theme “A Glimmer of Blessing in the Month of Ramadan,” the activity took place across the Banyumanik area in Semarang, with the primary goal of distributing ifthar (fast-breaking) meals to those in need.

A total of 100 meal packages were distributed by 21 organizers and volunteers, including delegates from various HMPS HI divisions, members of the Hitman community, and the 2024 International Relations Class Chairperson. The team moved together to hand out meals directly to daily laborers, street vendors, and underprivileged residents.

The event commenced with an opening speech by the Project Officer, Benyamin Maulana Pasha, followed by a technical briefing and departure preparations.

“Through this program, we hope to foster greater care and awareness for the people around us,” said Benyamin Maulana Pasha.

The distribution scheme was organized into three groups with varying routes. Each group headed to their designated locations to ensure the meals reached those most in need before the time for breaking the fast.

Upon completion of the distribution, the organizers and volunteers returned to the assembly point for a closing session and a brief evaluation, serving as a moment of reflection and a basis for future improvements.

The activity, which ran from 15:00 to 16:30 WIB, was met with a warm reception from the local community. Many beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the IR students’ initiative in taking direct action to share during Ramadan.

Beyond the benefits provided to the community, the event served as a profound learning experience for the students involved. Volunteers noted that the program taught them the importance of empathy, solidarity, and tangible contribution as part of their community service responsibility.

Overall, HI BerAksis 2026 proceeded smoothly. It is hoped that this program will remain a staple in HMPS HI Undip’s agenda, continuing to provide a positive impact for the residents of the Tembalang and Banyumanik areas.
