The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University once again held the FISIP Success Story program through a shooting/taping session conducted at the FISIP Undip Multimedia Laboratory on November 24, 2025. This event featured Gladys, S.AB, MBA, an alumna of the Business Administration Study Program class of 2004, who currently serves as Head of Digital Marketing. Through this forum, Gladys shared her professional career journey across various industries with the academic community of FISIP Undip, particularly the students.

During the sharing session, Gladys recounted her career path since graduating from Business Administration at FISIP Undip, continuing her master’s degree (S2) at the Bandung Institute of Technology, and eventually entering the professional workforce. Her career began at Arnott’s, a multinational FMCG company, before moving to Sampoerna. To deepen her understanding of comprehensive (360-degree) marketing, she transitioned to a technology company to strengthen her digital marketing competencies, after which she was entrusted with the role of Vice President of Marketing at Ajaib. This cross-sector experience continued with her work at a digital bank from Hong Kong, ultimately leading her back to Sampoerna in a strategic position as Head of Digital Marketing.

Beyond merely listing her roles, Gladys emphasized that one of the keys to her success stems from the soft skills foundation she acquired during her university years, such as structured thinking, logical thinking, an agile mindset, adaptability, and English proficiency. According to her, these skills are crucial for surviving and competing in the dynamic professional world. She also shared the main challenges in her current role, particularly in maintaining team morale and leading Generation Z with the right approach. Concluding the session, Gladys advised students to be discerning in selecting knowledge and fields of study relevant to future needs, including writing and communication skills with an understanding of business context, as essential preparation for facing the ongoing transformation of the workforce.
