Semarang (11/03) – The Campus Mosque Committee of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), along with the university’s academic community, organized the Joint Tarawih Prayer (Tarling) on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Darul Ilmi Mosque, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Undip Campus, Tembalang. This year’s event, themed Strengthening Islamic Brotherhood (Ukhuwah Islamiyah), was attended by the Rector of Undip along with university leadership. Also present as the host were the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., and the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication of Undip, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D. Additionally, the imam and speaker for the event was Prof. Dr. Imam Taufiq, M.Ag, Chairman of the Central Java PW PHI.

In his remarks, the Vice Rector of Undip, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed hope that this Joint Tarawih Prayer would be a blessed moment. “May this Tarawih prayer be a moment of blessings in both this world and the hereafter,” he said. Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, shared the theme of FISIP’s 2025 Ramadan, which is FISIP as Sahru Ramadhan, Sahru Rahman, wal maghfirah, wal munawarah, meaning FISIP as a faculty full of blessings, mercy, forgiveness, and light. He also highlighted FISIP Undip’s achievements, ranking 2nd in Indonesia, 38th in Asia, and 382nd globally in the Liberal Arts & Social Sciences category according to EduRank.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Imam Taufiq, M.Ag., in his sermon, emphasized the importance of strengthening the Islamic Brotherhood. He connected this to the Medina Charter (Shahifah al-Madinah), which served as the foundation of brotherhood and equality during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). “The Prophet established brotherhood in Medina. Those who migrated from Mecca to Medina were declared as family, not strangers or guests. Similarly, the people of Medina considered themselves brothers to the Muhajirin (migrants),” he explained. Prof. Imam Taufiq also highlighted the importance of treating all humans with dignity, regardless of religion. “Citizenship for the people of Medina was about unity, togetherness, and equality,” he added.

The 2025 Tarling event at FISIP Undip was not only a platform for worship but also a means to strengthen brotherhood and togetherness within the campus community. With the spirit of the Islamic Brotherhood, it is hoped that this event can create harmony and contribute positively to society, in line with the values taught in the Medina Charter.
