Semarang (2/4) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the 177th Yudisium Ceremony (Session 1) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the FISIP Undip Auditorium, Building A, 3rd Floor, Tembalang. The event was attended by 193 prospective graduates from the Departments of Political Science and Government Studies, Communication Science, and International Relations, encompassing various academic levels, from doctoral (S3) to undergraduate (S1) programs.
In her report, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos., MCommSt., Ph.D., conveyed her congratulations and pride in the graduates’ achievements. She emphasized that the professional world is a space for continuous learning, growth, and contribution.
“The world of work is not something to fear; rather, it is an arena where you can keep learning, developing, and contributing,” she stated. She also quoted Marie Curie, saying, “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood,” inspiring graduates to face new challenges with knowledge and courage.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the graduates, Azhes Melodi Saputra, a 2021 cohort student of Government Science, stated that FISIP Undip is not merely a place for acquiring knowledge but also a home that shapes character and broadens perspectives. He encouraged fellow graduates to become agents of change in society. “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world,” he quoted Nelson Mandela, reminding graduates of their great responsibility to make a positive impact on the nation and the world.
Paloma Paramita, S.Psi., M.M., M.Psi., representing the parents of Communication Science graduates, expressed gratitude for the students’ success. She commended the dedication of lecturers and the academic community in supporting their academic journey. “Let God guide and accompany you in every step,” she said, encouraging graduates to cultivate a growth mindset and collaborate in this era of digital transformation.
Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, in his address, reminded the graduates that their success was also made possible by the support of many parties, particularly the lecturers. “Our success is also because of others. One of them is our lecturers,” he stated.
He also highlighted FISIP Undip’s recent achievements, ranking 2nd among the best faculties of social and political sciences in Indonesia according to the EduRank 2024 rankings and among the top 500+ in the world based on the QS World University Rankings. Dr. Teguh also introduced new facilities, including a co-working space, the renovated FISIP Library, and plans for a new Joint Lecture Building.
This proud occasion concluded with a heartfelt musical performance of the song “Ayah” by Dr. Teguh Yuwono, adding to the emotional and joyful atmosphere of this historic moment. The 177th Yudisium Ceremony of FISIP Undip was not merely the conclusion of an academic journey but also the beginning of a new chapter for graduates to make a real contribution to society and the nation.
