Semarang (06/11) — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the first session of its 176th Graduation Ceremony in the FISIP Auditorium, Building A. This event was attended by prospective graduates from the Department of Politics and Government Studies, Business Administration, and International Relations, with a total of 166 candidates from undergraduate to doctoral programs.
In her address, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FISIP Undip, S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos., MCommSt., PhD., congratulated the graduates and reminded them to face the world with hard work, integrity, and optimism. “Navigate life after college with optimism, with a commitment to work hard, be genuine, and keep praying for God’s guidance in all our endeavours,” she advised. She also cited the motto “esse quam videri” — to be, rather than to seem.
Representing the prospective graduates, Rahma Fitriyani from the Undergraduate Business Administration Program expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm to contribute as a young professional. “Graduation is a stage, not proof. The proof isn’t in the cap and diploma, but in the effort and perseverance, and that journey begins today,” she stated, quoting Najwa Shihab.
Prof. Dr. Leila Kalsum, M.T., the parent of Muhammad Adytiawarman Prama Sakti, a candidate from the International Relations program, also extended her gratitude to the faculty and university leaders as well as lecturers who supported the students throughout their education at Undip. “As parents, we are proud of what has been achieved today. Although the achievements vary, from satisfactory to excellent or cum laude, they all represent a process that has been followed. Ahead, there will be more challenges to face,” she remarked to the graduates.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., highlighted FISIP’s achievements, including its place among the top 500+ in the QS World University Rankings and the success of eight study programs in gaining international accreditation. He also introduced a number of modern facilities that enhance the learning environment for students.
This 176th graduation ceremony marks a new beginning for FISIP Undip graduates, equipping them to enter the workforce with enthusiasm, dedication, and an authentic character.
