Semarang (24/04) – The 174th (Session 1) Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) brought forth emotional and inspirational moments on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Auditorium Room of FISIP Undip Building A, 3rd Floor in Tembalang. The event, attended by prospective graduates from the Master’s Program in Political Science, Bachelor’s Program in Government Studies, Master’s Program in Communication Science, Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science, and Bachelor’s Program in International Relations, serves as tangible evidence of their dedication and success during their higher education journey at Undip.
According to the Academic Activities Report presented by the Vice Dean for Resources of FISIP Undip, the presence of 112 prospective graduates in this session marked a historic milestone. Among them were 3 Political Science Master’s prospective graduates, 58 Government Science Bachelor’s prospective graduates, 8 Communication Science Master’s prospective graduates, 32 Communication Science Bachelor’s prospective graduates, and 11 International Relations Bachelor’s prospective graduates. In this valuable opportunity, the Vice Dean conveyed important messages about the values of ethics and courtesy, which are the main foundation of success for a graduate.
Quoting Ibn Al-Mubarak RA, she emphasized that possessing adab (good manners) was more valuable than merely having extensive knowledge. This message served as a foundation for facing challenges in the professional world, where good communication and respect for others were key.
During the event, Davin Krisna Ibrahim, a representative from the International Relations Bachelor’s Program, inspired attendees with insightful words from a touching film about struggle and resilience. He reminded everyone that failure was not the end of everything but rather a valuable lesson to rise again with stronger determination.
The speech from the Parents of the Graduating Students, represented by Prof. Dr. Khasan Effendy M.pd, highlighted the importance of variance concepts within their respective fields of study. He delivered special messages for the Departments of Government and Political Sciences, International Relations, and Communication Science, uniquely voicing hopes and challenges faced in the future.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, highlighted FISIP Undip’s outstanding achievements in various areas, from academic accomplishments to continuously developing supporting infrastructure. This reflects FISIP Undip’s commitment to being a faculty that excels not only academically but also provides the best experiences for its students.
