The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro held a Guest Lecturer on Resilient Tourism for The Future with Edriana Pangestuti, S.E., M.Sc., DBA (Chairman of UB Tourism Studies Center/Head of Tourism Laboratory FIA UB) as the speaker, Thursday (19/5).
In her presentation on “The Post-Pandemic Tourism and Creative Economy Recovery Strategy”, Edriana conveyed the instruction of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia regarding Tourism and Creative Economy in 2021, including accelerating infrastructure development in 5 priority destinations, preparing a Calendar of Events in each destination, especially in 5 super-priority destinations, implementation of K4 aspects in every tourism destination so that tourists could feel safe and comfortable, and the creative economy is the locomotive of job creation, especially for sectors that absorb and drive the economy. The three program platforms of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the future were Innovation, Adaptation, and Collaboration.
She further said that the steps to restore tourism and the creative economy were increasing the capacity of human resources (reskilling and upskilling, competency certification), revitalizing tourism destinations and infrastructure (management strengthening and managing destinations, tourist villages, developing/revitalizing tourism destinations/facilities of creative economy). increasing business resilience and competitiveness (providing incentives and access to capital, business standardization and CHSE certification, business reactivity), product and service innovation (quality tourism products, facilitation of product and service development, protection of intellectual property rights and digital transformation, appreciation of Indonesian creations), as well as market recovery and expansion (recovery of Wisnus, Bangga Berwisata #DiIndonesiaAja, #InDonesiaCARE; marketing of Creative Economy products, Gdernas Bangga Buatan Indonesia, #BeliKreatifLokal, #Adadiwarung; Preparation of border opening for foreign tourists).
“Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs initiated the Gerakan Bangga Buatan Indonesia (Proudly Made in Indonesia Movement) in order to improve the creative economy and continued with the #BeliKreatifLokal program. Utilization of the National Economic Recovery Stimulus Fund in the creative economy sector through the Creative Economy MSME Marketing Support Program. Support was carried out through increasing the number of onboarding Creative Economy MSMEs in the digital marketplace and increasing people’s purchasing power for Creative Economy MSMEs,” she concluded.
