Universitas Diponegoro has been confirmed to be a World Class University (WCU) with the recognition of 15 internationally accredited study programs. According to an interview on Monday (8/12) with Prof Budi Setiyono, S.Sos.,M.Pol. Admin., Ph.D., the UNDIP Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, as many as 15 study programs that were proposed to get international accreditation had passed the assessment. Prof Budi conveyed that a total of 15 study programs had passed the international accreditation assessment by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) which is based in Germany on November 27, 2021.
Moreover, he explained that the accreditation proposing process had been started in January 2021. Each study program was encouraged to follow the process. “LP2MP is responsible to provide assistance and support during the preparation”, he explained. This accreditation process was in line with Undip Campus Development Master Plan of 2013-2026, where at this point Universitas Diponegoro was entering the V phase (2020-2021) namely Strengthening as a Research University.
He added that according to the IKU (UNDIP Key Performance Indicator) with the World-class University criteria, Universitas Diponegoro aimed to make its 40 study programs internationally accredited. Thus, UNDIP kept encouraging its study programs to get international accreditation by improving their service, HR competence, as well as their infrastructure with international standards. Previously, there had been 11 internationally accredited study programs. Furthermore, another 15 study programs passed the international accreditation assessment namely the Bachelor of Law, Master of Law from Law Faculty, and then Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Communication Science from FISIP. Moreover, there were also 2 study programs from the Faculty of Humanities that passed the assessment namely Bachelor of Indonesia Literature and Bachelor of Indonesian history. Other study programs were the Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Economic and Development Studies, Bachelor of Islamic Economics, Master of Management, Master of Accounting, Master of Economics, and Doctor of Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
The funding for the international accreditation process was taken from the budget prepared by University and each Faculty. Undip is optimistic to make its 40 study programs to be internationally accredited. Recently, Universitas Diponegoro has 169 study programs from 11 faculties and 2 schools namely the Postgraduate and Vocation schools. “It is hoped that this achievement will trigger other study programs to get internationally accredited” he concluded.
