Joint Prayer to Welcome 2026: FISIP Undip Fosters Commitment to Excellence and Blessings

SEMARANG (02/01) – Stepping into the new chapter of 2026, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) commenced the year by holding a Joint Prayer for the Excellence, Safety, and Blessings of FISIP Undip. The solemn event took place on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the FIMEL Library, Building D, 3rd Floor, FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang. It was attended by the entire academic community as a form of reflection, gratitude, and unity of resolve to achieve even more brilliant accomplishments.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., alongside the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., and all faculty leadership, heads of study programs, departments, lecturers, educational staff, and students. Their attendance signified solidarity and a shared commitment to advancing the Faculty.

In his opening remarks, Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., noted that January 1, 2026, also marked the 57th anniversary of FISIP Undip. He conveyed that the achievements over 57 years represent a significant and challenging journey. He also highlighted the Faculty’s accomplishment of having 100% of its study programs accredited as “Excellent” on the main campus. Concluding his speech, he expressed his hopes for the coming year.

“May this beginning of the year, this momentum, mark our start to fill the new year, throughout 2026, with the programs we have prepared, supported by collaboration and shared commitment,” he stated.

The next address was delivered by the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.. He expressed high appreciation for FISIP’s performance, including having the highest acceleration of Scopus publications among social science faculties at Undip, as well as the construction of a new library. With full confidence, Wijayanto conveyed his hope, “May FISIP continue to progress, become increasingly excellent in research, and create an impact not only at the University level, but also in Indonesia and the world.”

The event then continued with a profound and inspiring session. Prof. Sudharto P. Hadi, MES, Ph.D., Rector of Universitas Diponegoro for the 2010 – 2014 period, delivered a Brief History of FISIP Undip, reminding all present of the foundation and noble values built over 57 years. Subsequently, the pinnacle of the event was the Tausiyah (Religious Talk) and Joint New Year’s Prayer delivered by Dr. KH. Muhammad Adnan. In his Tausiyah, Kyai Adnan emphasized that age is a blessing and capital. “To gain profit from that capital, then do good deeds,” he advised, inviting the entire FISIP Undip academic community to fill the year 2026 with virtuous acts and beneficial works.

This joint prayer activity was not merely a spiritual ritual but also a strategic moment to strengthen synergy, reflect on achievements, and sow optimism among all elements of FISIP Undip as they step into 2026, full of challenges and hope.
