Semarang, October 24, 2025 — Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP) has once again demonstrated its commitment to developing global networks by holding an event titled “FISIP Global Stories: The Synergy of Diaspora Alumni for World Class FISIP UNDIP”. This event was held virtually via Zoom Meeting on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 18.00-21.00 WIB. This event, attended by nearly 700 alumni and students, is one form of realization of UNDIP’s IKU achievements regarding the role of diaspora alumni as part of strengthening international reputation and global networks.

This event featured two inspirational speakers from FISIP UNDIP’s diaspora alumni who have made their mark internationally, namely: Kiki Krumnikl, S.I.Kom., Senior Finance Specialist, SAP (Prague) and Devi Yohanita Qorina, S.I.Kom., M.Comm., Assistant Communication Manager (Paris), both alumni of FISIP UNDIP Communication Science from the class of 2010.

Through their experiences, the alumni shared stories, challenges, and strategies for adapting to global work environments while also inspiring the FISIP UNDIP academic community to expand their international perspectives. This activity not only strengthened relationships with alumni but also opened up collaboration opportunities for students and the university in the tri dharma areas such as research, teaching, and community service.

The event was opened with remarks from: Prof. Dr. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., Director of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity of Diponegoro University. In his speech, he conveyed that diaspora alumni activities are important for UNDIP’s visibility in the global arena. In his speech, Dr. Teguh Yuwono emphasized the important role of diaspora alumni in strengthening FISIP UNDIP’s international reputation. “FISIP not only produces graduates with national competitiveness but also builds global networks that contribute to Diponegoro University’s vision of becoming a World Class University,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yogi Arief Nugroho added that this activity is a real form of synergy between the campus and alumni in building a globally oriented and sustainable academic ecosystem. He expressed his happiness that IKA FISIP has been active in various countries and that this will form a strong alumni bond. Kiki Krumnikl, S.I.Kom, a diaspora alumni now residing in Prague, expressed her great longing for FISIP and her happiness in being able to share experiences and appreciation for the event.

The FISIP Global Stories activity is part of the international alumni network strengthening program initiated by the FISIP UNDIP Alumni Association (IKA FISIP) in collaboration with FISIP UNDIP and UNDIP’s Directorate of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity. This program is expected to be an inspirational platform for students, lecturers, and alumni to share experiences, collaboration opportunities, and build impactful global networks.
