Semarang (10/3) – On Tuesday, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Diponegoro (FISIP Undip) officially launched the International Conference on Indonesian Social and Political Enquiries (ICISPE) 2023, themed “Demanding Sustainable Social, Business and Political Reforms: Digital Technology and Its Application in Current Socio-Political Issues.” This prestigious event was attended by renowned speakers from various countries and will span two days, concluding on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
The conference commenced with great enthusiasm, as Dr. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at FISIP Undip, delivered the opening remarks. Dr. Teguh Yuwono highlighted that one of the main objectives of ICISPE 2023 is to comprehend digital transformation both theoretically and practically in the context of reform and sustainability. This underscores the importance of understanding the impacts of digital change on various aspects of social and political life in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the conference encompasses 12 diverse sub-themes, such as Digital and Social Transformation Policy, Thematic Bureaucratic Reform and Sustainability, Digital Public Service Management, Mass Media and Communication in the Digital Era, Strategic Communication in the Digital Era, as well as International Crime, Law, and Cybersecurity. These sub-themes reflect the complexity of issues currently faced by Indonesian society and government in dealing with the digital era.
This event serves as a platform for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders to engage in in-depth discussions on various issues related to digital transformation and ongoing social and political changes.
On the first day of the conference, seven distinguished international speakers provided insights in two different plenary sessions. They included Dr. Andrew Garner from Wyoming University, United States; Jan Robert Ramos Go, PhD from the University of the Philippines; Professor Yinghuei Chen from Asia University, Taiwan; Professor Valeria Paganizza from the University of Padua, Italy; Pham Thi Tuan Linh, PhD from the International School of Thai Nguyen University; Prof. Jihyun Eum from Kangwon National University; and Prof. Bulan Prabawani, S.Sos., M.M., Ph.D. from Diponegoro University.
ICISPE 2023 is rooted in the spirit of inclusive knowledge development, fostering collaboration among various disciplines. This event offers an opportunity for academics and other stakeholders to bridge the gap between the academic and practical worlds.
