Prof. Sudharto Prawata Hadi, MES, Ph.D Receives The Second Class Star of Service Honor from the President of the Republic of Indonesia

Jakarta (14/8) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, takes pride in the bestowal of the Second Class Star of Service honor upon Prof. Sudharto Prawoto Hadi, MES, Ph.D., by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. The event, held at the State Palace, saw Prof. Sudharto among the distinguished individuals, numbering 18, who were recipients of this honor presented by President Joko Widodo.

The Star of Service honor is a recognition conferred by the state to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society and the nation across various fields, including education, science, arts, sports, and more. Therefore, the conferred recognition upon Prof. Sudharto Prawoto Hadi, MES, Ph.D., serves as an expression of appreciation for his diligent efforts and dedication in advancing society and the country. The Second Class Star of Service, in this context, belongs to one of the tiers within the array of Star of Service honors. This accolade is bestowed exclusively upon individuals who have significantly contributed to their respective fields, and its conferral involves a rigorous selection process.

Prof. Sudharto Prawoto Hadi, MES, Ph.D., affectionately known as Prof. Dharto, commenced his higher education journey at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UNDIP. Subsequently, Prof. Dharto pursued his studies at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University, Canada, in 1989, culminating in the attainment of a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies (MES). His pursuit of knowledge continued as he embarked on a doctoral program at the School of Community and Regional Planning, University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, ultimately achieving the title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

As a Professor in Environmental Management within the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UNDIP, and as the Chairman of the PROPER Council under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, his dedication in driving environmental awareness and the advancement of scientific knowledge is beyond question. His role as a former Rector of Undip during the 2010-2014 period stands as a tangible example of how endeavor and research in the field of Environmental Management can lead to positive transformative change that inspires.
