Semarang (8/11) – The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro recently held a guest lecture with the theme “Grounding and Internalising Pancasila in the Contemporary Era”. The guest lecture, which was held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, also presented Prof Dr Ani Purwanti, S.H., M.Hum ( a Lecturer at Undip Faculty of Law) as a speaker.
In her material, Prof Ani conveyed several things related to the Grounding of Pancasila and its Challenges for the Millennial Generation. In addition to globalisation, she mentioned the challenges of today’s young generation, namely awareness of the potential of Indonesia’s natural resources. This is further worsened by the fact that many of them still do not have a clear understanding of Pancasila. One of the efforts to overcome the lack of understanding of Pancasila is through learning, literacy, and the availability of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKN) courses for university students as well as junior and senior high school students.
In addition, she also explained that in the post-reform era of Indonesia, namely in 1998 – 1999, we experienced the elimination of Pancasila courses and institutions that dealt with the socialisation/acculturation of Pancasila (BP7). This led to the loss of the role model of Pancasila for the younger generation at that time. The exemplification of Pancasila is important for the younger generation to provide an understanding of Pancasila itself. Furthermore, the lecturer of the Faculty of Law mentioned the need for the actualisation of Pancasila values by public figures, religious leaders, national leaders, and everyone. Exemplification is important for the younger generation by sports figures or those who influence society. As an example from the cultural side, Eross Candra who is a Sheila On 7 personnel has created a song called Bendera (Flag). His figure became an icon of Pancasila because his song can evoke a sense of nationalism and this is very much related to the 3rd principle of Pancasila.
